Biochar can be used pretty much everywhere that consists of soil and plants. It has a variety of ways to be implemented in our forests, landscapes, farms and gardens.

If the soil is depleted, eroded and lacks life you would definitely want to add organic matter/mulch and mix it with the biochar. This will start to build up the biology. Biochar should be blended with mulch and water, which will create a stable home for the microbes. Watering your newly biochared soil mix the first few days is also a crucial step to helping it start up its biological activity.
